SECTARIAN FEELING.

PROTESTANT V. CATHOLIC

OBJECTION TO EUCHARIST PROCESSION.

United Press Association, Copyright (Received Sept. 9, 11.15 ! p.m.)

LONDON, Sept. 9. p At a meeting of the London Council of the United Protestant Society, Air. C. McArthur, ALP., presiding, it was resolved to urge the Government to forbid the procession of the Host in connection with the Eucharist conference, through the public thoroughfares. The society telegraphed a petition to the King, and sent 400 Peers and AI-P.’s a message inviting them to use their influence- to prevent the procession, which they feared might cause a riot and oven bloodshed. The letters of Mr. McArthur and others, published in the newspapers, describe the procession of the public adoration of the Host as an attempt to create a precedent for similar processions in all great towns of the Empire, thus leading to religious feuds.
