Mr. Killian Hyslop, representative for Messrs Fletcher, Humphreys, and Co., of Christchurch, is at present in town.
Mr. W. A. Barton, S.M., is expected to return this evening from his periodical visit to the Coast townships.. The Rev. Father Lane was a passenger for Tologa Bay by the s.s. llaupiri yesterday afternoon. Mr. A. J. Black, the temperance lecturer who was expected to arrive by the s.s. Victoria yesterday afternoon, was detained in Auckland, and will probably arrive on Sunday afternoon. Mr. P. A. Eadie, representing the “New Zealand Farmer,” is at present oil a short visit to Gisborne. The Mayor (Mr. W. D. Lysnar) left for Wellington by the s.s. Mokoia last evening on business connected with his profession. Yesterday afternoon Mr. R. G. Crawford, dentist, the eldest son of Mr. T. A. Crawford, chemist, of Gisborne, was married to Miss Cuslila Boylan, daughter of Mrs. E. 1L Pavitt, Kaiti. Tlie ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Church, the vicar (the Rev. Dawson Thomas) officiating. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. G. R Wyllie, and the bridesmaids were Miss Ella Wyllie and Alisa Evelyn Crawford. The bridegroom was attended bv Air AY. Nevins as best man and AIV. R. Coop as groomsman. After the ceremony a large number of guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s mother. The happy couple left for Napier, en route to Rotorua, via the Alain Trunk lipo in the evening.
