CO-OPERATIVE BUILDING SOCIETY.
ANNUAL AIEETING
The ninth annual meeting of tlic Gisborne Co-operative Building Society was held in Townley’s Hall last evening. Air; L. T. Symes occupied the chair,, and there was a large attendance.
In presenting the annual report, the Chairman said he was pleased the Society was able to show such a satisfactory sbite of affairs.. During the year £8,475 had been invested, which amount was a record. Altogether the Society had lent £52,077 since its formation, and all tho securities held were beyond doubt, while borrowers had at the same time been dealt with in a fair manner. The directors desired to express their appreciation of the good work done by the secretary (Air. A. G. Beere). ' The report, as already published in the “Times,” was then read and adopted. Alessrs’F. Harris, R. T. Seymour. C. Adair, and A. T. Coleman were elected, directors.
Air. L. T. Symes, chairman of directors, resigned his seat on the directorate on account of pressure of other business, and was accorded a vote of thanks in appreciation of his work on the Board. Air. Symes. in returning thanks, said that he found the work of the tSocietv, took up a great deal of time, and lie had only resigned on that account.
An appropriation of £SOO hi No. 1 issue was then disposed of hy tender in the following allotments: £IOO at £22, and £3OO at £3O per £IOO. A ballot was held 1 for an. appropriation of £SOO in No. 2 issue, which fell to Air. AV. Cox £3OO, Airs. A. Jones £IOO. and Airs. AI. A. Spencer £IOO.
