Creamer, a member of the Grey Lynn Borough Council, and an advocate of no-license, will be a candidate for the Alanukau seat in opposition to Air. F. W. Lang, the sitting member. WELLINGTON SEATS. [Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Sept. 16. The Labor Representation Committee to-night- resolved to nominate the following candidates at the Parliamentary elections:—Wellington East, Air. D. AlcLaren; Wellington South, Mr. O. H. Chapman; Wellington Suburbs, Air. W. T. Young. If sufficient funds are available, candidates will be run for other seats. THE AVON SEAT. [Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 16. Air. AY. R, Smith, a. candidate for the Avon seat, addressed a meeting at the Alarehland Public Hall last evening. The speaker dealt with various questions, and announced his support of the present Administration. He answered a number of questions, during the course of which lie stated he was not in favor of religious instruction in State schools, except by each denomination supplying its own ; that he was a supporter of the leasehold ; lie was ill favor of the bare majority as a .ruling principle; he favored preference to unionists'; he would vote in favor of the present administration on a. no-confidence motion except in the ease of an extremely drastic measure. A AVESTLAND CANDIDATE. [Preb! Association.] HOKITIKA, Sept. 16. Air. H. L. Alicliel, a. candidate for Westland against the sitting member, addressed a very large audience this evening. He declared himself, a- supporter of the present Government, considering the present Premier the only possible leader, but seriously criticised some of tlio Government’s measures, and especially tile administration of the Alines Department. The candidate received the usual vote of thanks.
