RE-UNION OF CHURCHES.

ANGLICAN AND PRESBYTERIAN. ARCHBISHOP CLARICE AT GLASGOW. United Press Association, Copyright (Received Sept. 17, 11.5 p.m.) t LONDON, Sept. 17. Archbishop Clarke, ,of Melbourne, addressed an influential and representative gathering of clergy and laity at Glasgow University relative to the reunion of the Presbyterian and Anglecan Churches in Australia. Professor Cooper, presiding, declared that Home Presbyterians were deeply sincere, and. readily understood that the reformed churches of Australia needed close ranks to husband their resources of men and money. Archbishop Clarke said that union must not be rushed, lest it breed fresh schism. Doctor Meiklejohn applauded the results already achieved in Australia, and said he believed they would produce a permanent effect. The Rev. Marshall, the Moderator, in thanking Archbishop Clarke for his address, said that the occasion was a very important one that would possibly prove historic. Dr. Macalister, Principal of Glasgow University, said that the Scottish laity watched these questions with more than passive interest.
