BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In accordance with a resolution passed at Tuesday night’s meeting, the Borough Council held a special meeting at 4 p.m. yesterday to consider the question of the waterworks contract. There were present: His Worship tho Alayor, Councillors Bright, Somervell, Sawyer, Whinray, Williams, and Darton. His Worship moved that the Council go into committoe. This was seconded by Cr. Whinray. Or. Darton opposed the motion, anil said that, for the future, he would oppose any motion for the Council to go into committee, as the presence of the press was the only protection tlio Councillors had from' the insults of the. chair. Cr. Sawyer considered that all business should ho done in open Council. The motion to« go into committee was carried. On resuming in open Council no further business was taken, and the Council adjourned.
