TE ARAROA. [From Our Correspondent.] A full meeting of tho To Araroa Launch Club was held at the Te Araroa Hotel recently. Present: Alessrs E. H. * Henderson (chair), Hawkins, Heald, Hansen, DoLautour, Te Rei Ngatai, Metcalfe, Beckett, Tait, Liddlo, Piripi, Hori Alalme, To Honkamau, Henare Alahuika, W. Grayson and others. As the running of the launch during tho last twelve months was considered to bo unsatisfactory by certain members of tho club. - Air. Alotcalfe tabled a motion that tho launch bo sold by tender, the highest offer to bo accepted. Further amendments were put, one being to tho effect that, seeing that the club’s present indebtedness' was only about £2O, that .tilio launch bo nob sold, but that a levy bo made or! each membor of tho club to raise funds to wipe off the /deficit. Aly. Liddle’s motion, whiclf'was-seconded by Air. Te Roi Ngatai, that a call of one pound per member bo made, was carried unanimously. The matter of a new winch and tramline was next discussed. It was resolved that a dance bo held a month lienco, and that a charge of 5s per head be made tho proceeds to go towards the funds of the club. Notice of motion was given by Air. Alotcalfe that tlio charge for tho uso of tho launch be increased. A rough balance-sheet was prepared, and it was found that tho launch had earned £4l odd, and expended in sundries £l9 odd. A letter was read from tho manager of the Huddart-Parker Company, in reply to tho club’s application asking that a steamer might call off To Araroa occasionally for passengers, to the offect that this was a matter entirely in tho hands of tho captain of a ( steamer, who would use his own discretion in the matter, but that any passenger boats waiting in steamers’ tracks would no doubt bo picked up and taken on. Accounts amounting to over £23 were passed for payment. Air. Hansen requested to be relieved of his responsibility as caretaker of the launch. Air. Henderson was chosen as his successor for the ensuing six months. A public-meeting was held in the Te Araroa Hotel on the 12th inst, presided over by All". E. H. Henderson, J.P., to protest against tho action of Captain Alcßnide, of the Haupiri, in passing To Araroa without calling when the landing conditions were perfect. Present: Messrs E. H. Henderson, DeLautour, Hawkins, Heald, Hansen, Metcalfe, Beckett, F. Tait, IV. Grayson, Logan, Elliott, Hon Alalme, To Honkamau, Henare Alahuika, Piripi, Pohe, Wailieko. Tureia, Te Roi Ngatai, Coomer, O’Ryan and others. A resolution was unanimously carried to tho above effect, and wired to the managing director, Dunedin.
