On Saturday last the Prune A 1 mister, Sir Joseph Ward, completed his 21st year of political service, and was the recipient of numerous congratulatory messages from all parts oi the Dominion. The following telegram was despatched on Saturday morning by the Mayor of Gisborne: —'‘Sir Joseph Ward, Prime Minister, Wellington.—On behalf of the Borough of Gisborne 1 extend to you a hearty congratulation upon your attaining your political majority by having held a seat in the House of Representatives for 21 years, and trust that you will he granted health and strength to serve the people of this .Dominion for many years to come.— W. Douglas Lysnar, Mayor.” A congratulatory message was also sent from the Cook County Council, whose chairman (Hon. Captain Tucker) has received the following reply:—“l thank you sincerely for your kind telegram conveying the hearty congratulations and good wishes of Cook County, which are deeply appreciated.—). G. Ward.”
