The Mauriceville Co-operative Dairying Company is reported to havo sold' its output- at a record price (writes a “Dominion” correspondent). A few days ago it was stated that the Ballance Company had sold at a record price, and that Mauriceville had refused a high offer made by a Wellington firm. It appears, therefore, that the butter market is hardening. Some days ago the Oimnake Dairy Company sold for lljjd per pound. The Mauriceville Company’s record price, therefore, must be something like ll]d. It is fairly well known that there have been extensive butter purchases by product merchants, and this stems to indicate a strong expectation of high prices.
