Air. E. Gallichan, organizer for the Liberal-Labor Federation, who has been in the district for a few days, was a passenger for South by tlie s.s. A T ictoria last night. Leave of absence for the remainder of the session has been granted to Air. E. AA r . Alison, M.P., for. AA’aitemata, on account- of ill-healtli. It is understood that the wellknown AA’ellington footballer Ivc'iy has received a good offer to join the St. Helen’s Club, Lancashire, England, and that he lias accepted, and will leave on October 22. The popular Australian ooxmg champion, Bill Squires, is at present in Gisborne acconipaliving the Mac-Alalion-Carroll living picture organisation on a trip through New zmalaud for recreative purposes. Air. Squires is staying at the Gisborne Hotel.
