[Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. _ . Following is a synopsis of tho business transacted by the House of Representatives and of Bills passed and dropped during the. session: — . Ninoty-nino public Bills received Royal assent, and two wore reserved for* signification of His Majesty s pleasure. Thirty-six local Bills wore passed and six dropped. Two private Bills rocoived tlie Royal assent, there wore 481 petitions from Europeans and ISO from Maoris presented. The House sat on 59 days, 419 hours-and 24 minutes before midnight, and 0( hours and 19 minutes after midnight, or an average of S hours 6 minutes daily. Ministers woro asked 816 questions. and 113? entries were rn-ndo in the journals. The number of papers asked for was 100, and the following is an analysis of the papers laid on the table: 74 by command, 29 by leave, 142 by Act, 69 in return .to orders, and 10 by Mr. Speaker' Twenty-six select committees were set up, 24 ou public Bills ancl two on privato matters.
