Mr. John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, speaking at Tyuemouth, said that no legislation relating to the right to work or as to the unemployed problem would be taken this session, but. next year much more, would be spent in distress areas in non-pauper relief than during the whole period of the Lancashire cotton famine.

Mr. John Burns, speaking at Newcastle, declared that- be refused to be ax party to panic legislation in regard to unemployment.
