DRUNKENNESS
Thomas-Mullins', alias Walter Bennett, pleaded not guilty to a charge of being found drunk at To Karaka on Saturday 17tli October. •Evidence was given by Constable Doyle and Jolm KeUilier, and His Worship inflicted a penalty of 5s with 2s costs] 10s expenses, or 48 hours’ imprisonment. IOBSCEiNE LANGUAGE.
A charge of having used obscene language in a public place at Te Karaka, was also preferred-against the same . accused, to which he pleaded guilty. In this case a fine of £3, with 2s costs, was imposed, in default 44 days’ -imprisonment, the sentences to he concurrent. THEFT OF A WATCH AND CH AIN Thomas Taylor pleaded guilty to having, on October 14, stolen a. watch , chain, and sovereign case, valued at '£6, the property of Cecil Davis. His Worship remanded the ease until 'this morning at 10 a.m. to receive the report of the Probation Officer.
• ALLEGED WIFE DESERTION.' On a further charge of having deserted his wife in Auckland on April 14th last,- accused elected to be dealt with by the lower Court, and the hearing of evidence in this case was algo adjourned until this* morning at 10 a.m. ' ' . . , / PROCURING LIQUOR.' Donald (Murray pleaded guilty to a charge of having procured liquor during the currency of a prohibition order against him. _ - iHis Worship took into account that the offence was, committed a very short time after the issuing of the order, when defendant was perhaps hardly in a fit state to know what be was doing. A lino of £1 with costs 10s was imposed. . ' PROHIBITION ORDER.. A prohibition order was issued •against an elderly man on the application of his son.
