TOKIO, Oct. 19. ~ The American fleet, escorted by Japanese cruisers, entered Yokohama harbor, amid the discharge of fireworks' and salutes from 1C Japanese battleships aiid theiYshdrc batteries. The Japanese battleships anchored in columns astern of tho American warships. Tlicre'was extraordinary enthusiasm and the Stars and Stripes and the Rising Sun were seen everywhere. Japanese newspapers declare that Japan, owes America undying gratitude for leading'her into' the light of modern civilisation and treating her with uniform and profound friendship.
