The Chinese Government has abandoned the monopoly of selling opium and substituted a licensing system.

Count Tolstoi, replying to birthday congratulations from the Australian Federation Single Tax League, expressed the warmest sympathy for -Henry George’s teaching. Ho would gladly assist the League’s efforts to abolish the injustice, and evil property in land,.which caused economic misery, political disorder, and moral degradation of the people.
