A FAMOUS NEW ZEALAND ROMNEY FIOCK.

Among the* most noted Romney Marsh flocks in existence throughput the world to-dav,'that owned by Mr. G. C. Wheeler, of Burford, Halcombe, Aew Zealand, stands prominently in the front rank. The breeding and general management of this flock are beyond doubt of the highest order, as tlhe following report on the Bur ford Romnev wool by Mr. S. B. Hollings, the celebrated! Bradford wool expert, clearly proves—i.e.: Bradford, England, July 4, 1908. Mr. G. C. Wheeler, Burford, Halcombe, N.Z. Romney Marsh Fleece. This is an-excellent fleece of perfectly grown, wool according to ' its breed. It shows first-class length, grand quality, being 46’s to 50’s. There is a. splendid character, it is very sound, very stylish, and attractive. One could not help being struck until the beautiful soft handle and elasticity of the staple. Taken as a criterion, the fleece in question indicates that the breeding and general management of this flock must be of the very highest order. (Signed) ' S. 13. Hollings.
