MAHARAJAH BURDWAN’S HEROISM.

LONDON, Nov. 13. Mr. T. R. Buchanan, Under-Secre-tary for India, in the House of Commons, expressed the Government’s admiration -of Maharajah Burdwan’s heroism in defending Sir A.‘ T. Fraser.
[Maharajah Burdwan ranks first m wealth and importance among tiie great Bengal Zamindaris. He is 2S years of age, has travelled in Europe, and has acquired some reputation as a poet. ANOTHER OUTRAGE. ATTEMPTED MURDER OF AN INFORMER. (Received Nov. 13, 9.35 p.m.) CALCUTTA, Nov. 13. Desperadoes waited outside liis Domicile intending to kill Chandra Dass, the informer in the State trial at Alipur, but another man, one of liis relatives, who emerged, was terribly stabbed in mistake. Tlie desperadoes escaped, and there is no clue to their ident'itiy.
