WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. ~ The following telegram has been sent out to the -Education Boards by the Education Depavinient:—-Teach-ers’ salaries: Minimum salary, plus. £5, will be- paid as from Ist Jamiary next to each teacher whose present salary is under the minimum provided by the scale (new). Future appointments will commence at the minimum, and receive a yearly imf—crease of £5, in terms of section 7, sub-section 4, until the maximum is reached. Other teachers whose present salaries arc not below the minimum, but -are under the maximum, will oac-li receive an increase of £-r> per annum as from Ist January, and a yearly increase of £5 until they also reach the maximum. A detailed table showing the salaries for 1909 dn the several grades of schools will be issued shortly.
