IMPENDING RESIGNATION

NAPIER, Nov. 23
During the proceeding® of the Anglican Synod to-day, the Bishop of Wai rpu intimated that it was his intention: to forward liiy resignation to the Primate as soon as the other bishops returned from 'England, and h© could consult with them. Dr. Williams had previously intimated that he would shortly resign on account of his age, so that a successor could be appointed more physically able to cope with the work of the diocese.
