CRICKET.
POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION.
The AA'eekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association Avas held last evening in the British Empire Hotel, Mr. W. F. Cederwall (President) in the chair.
The secretary was instructed to communicate with the Hawke’s" Bay Association, intimating that there was a possibility of a representative -Poverty Bay eleven visiting Napier for the week between Christmas and l New Year, if matches could be arranged, and suggesting that the same programme be followed as on the last occasion a Poverty Bay team visited Napier, viz.: Monday and Tuesday, v Hawke’s Bay representative eleven; Wednesday, v. United i Club ; Thursday, v. Combined Hastings Clubs, at Hastings; Friday, v. Seinde Club. It was decided that the Thursday competition matches be continued at Victoria Domain to-day, Te Rau and Union playing on the concrete wicket and United and Cosmopolitan on the chipped wic'ket. On the motion of Mr. W. Gibson, seconded by Mr. D. Barry, a 'hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr. W. D. S. MacDonald, for his generosity in conveying the team which visited Motu on the King’s Birthday, from Te Kanaka to Motu and back, and also to Mrs. MacDonald for her kindly hospitality in entertaining the team at and afternoon-tea.
A transfer was • grantee,! to W. LeeArcher from the To Ilau Club to the Wanderers Club.
Mr. H. E. Maude gave notice to move at a general meeting of the Association, to be held on. December Bth, that such amendments' as may be deemed necessary be made to the rules.
The following players will represent the United Club against Cosmopolitan at Victoria Domain this afternoon Hallamore, Moo re-Sampson, Gorman, Farrell, Lang, Harre, Dore, Brown, Pare ICeiha, Cato, and Gibson. The following players will represent the Union Cricket Club in tho match against the Te Rau Club to be played in the Victoria Domain this afternoon : Grant, Coleman, Shildabeer, H. Chamberlain, Payne, McLean, Fox, Harrison, Pollock, Neill; emergencies, Priestly, Harker. The Te Rau team to play Union today Avill be picked from the following : Scholium, Rewai, Olsen, Mill, Featon, Moore, Rose, Burke, Wack (2), Sim, Monk, Pine, McLeod.
