DEVON BRINGS 152 SECONDCLASS PASSENGERS.

AUCKLAND, Nov. 25
Some 152 second-class passengers from England arrived in New Zealand by tlie Fcderal-Houlder-Sbire liner Devon, which reached Auckland today from Liverpool. These arc described as of a particularly good class, and include a large proportion of farmers and farm la-borers. The following are tlie bookings to the various ports of the Dominion: Auckland 39, Wellington 73. Lyttelton 8, Port Chalmers 19, New Plymouth (i, AYcstport 5, Oainaru 1. Of the total'for all ports tho various trades are represented as follows: Domestic servants six, farmers twenty, farm laborers three, joiners two, enginenien and drivers eight, carpenters tailors’ machinists three, laborers two, mechanics five, butchers two, turners two, moulders three, draughtsmen two, -clerks three, and one each ot the following—fireman, grocer, traveller, printer, painter, bricklayer, wool-sorter, pattern-maker, wardrobe dealer, cycle-maker, cabinet-maker, and jeweller. Air. Shanaghan, officer in charge of tlie local Labor Bureau, stated that of the immigrants for Auckland only .nine were assisted by tlie Government, tlie other 30 being unassisted.
