BOWLING.
GISBORNE CLUB. An interesting match in the Champion Singles of the Gisborne Club was played yesterday afternoon between Messrs Witty and Kyme. On the 21st head the scores were equal—--22 all. Mr. Kyme got one in on the additional head, thus winning by a single point. T U RANG AN UI CLUB. Entries for tho Handicap Pairs competition in connection with the Turanganui Bowling Club will close this evening. THE NAPIER TOURNAMENT. The Gisborne and Turanganui Bowling Clubs are inviting entries irom members willing to proceed t-o Napier to take part in the champion fours matches, to be played on the Napier Club’s green on January 11, 1909. In addition to the champion fours matches, the citizens of Napier have presented to the Association for rink competition after the tournament trophies to the value of 34 guineas, which will be allocated as follows: First prize, lour gold medals to the value of four guineas each; second prize, four gold medals, value 21 guineas each; third prize, lour tivphies.i value* two guineas each. Any member of a club affiliated to a recognised Bowling Association can play in these matches; each rink must belong to the same club ; the game will l)v winners against winners to a final; all skips must furnish the secretary with the names and positions of players prior to the competition : entrance fees (10s for each rink) are to be banded in at the time of entry : play is to be on greens selected by the Association, and conditions 6,7, 8,9, 10, 11, and 13, of the tournament- conditions apply also to the competition. Applications from members of the Turanganui Club willing to go to Napier will be received until the evening of Saturday, December sth.
