A REGRETTABLE INCIDENT.
ASSAULTING A TEACHER. MISSIONARY committed for TRIAL. United Press Association Copyright THURSDAY ISLAND, Nov.. 26. Advices from Darn, Papua, state that the Rev. Baxter Riley, of the London Missionary Society, has been committed for trial on a charge of assaulting a colored teacher working under him. It is alleged that Riley was challenged ,and struck the teacher, hurting his neck. The teacher was suffering from pneumonia, and died three weeks afterwards.
