THE WOOL SALES. United Press Association, Copyright LONDON, Nov. 25. At the wool sales there was keen competition at- lull opening rates. Amorienn buyer* are taking both merinos and crossbreds. WELLINGTON, Nov. 26. The following cable has been received from the High Commissioner dated London, November 25:—The wool sales commenced with a large attendance nndjicen competition. Merinos and crossbreds show an average ■advance on last- sale, of Id to jd respectively. Americans are operating freely for suitable lots. The prospects are favorable. THT MEAT MARKET. [Press Association.] NAPIER, Nov. 26. The C.C. and D. Company cabled to-dav: —“The frozen beef market is weaker. To-day’s quotations are: Canterbury mutton 4d, Napier. Wellington, and North Island 3id. Lamb, first quality, s§d ; second quality, ojd. Beef, hindquarters 3gd ; fores old.
