Co.’s Waikare .returns from- Auckland to-morrow .afternoon, and sails in the evening for Southern ports. The scow Rambler sailed yesterday afternoon for Taint a to load logs for Auckland. ~ _ ... The IT.S.S. Co.’s Squatl leaves Auckland this afternoon for Tologa J3av and Gisborne. The U.S.S. Co.’s Flora as expected to arrive in Auckland front Coast bays to-day, and leaves 'that port again lor Coast bays, Gisborne, and T.ho Anchor Company, of Nelson, •intend to name their two now vessels being -built at Home the Nikau and the AVaitnea.
An officer on one of the big Home liners, who has just returned on .n visit to the Dominion, gives a doleful account of the shipping depression at Home. AVlien he left, a- little over two months ago, there -were no less than GOO -steamers —principally tramps and small vessels —laid tip between ]Jarrv and Newcastle.
