WELLINGTON PORT RETURNS

A LARGE INCREASE

[Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. The trade of the port of Welling-ton-for the year ending September 30th shows a large increase. The tonnage of vessels arriving increased by 157,214. and' the number by 60. which the chairman said put Wellington ahead of such ports as Belfast. "Bristol, Swansea, and Sunderland. It showed considerably more than half til© trade of Melbourne, and above a third, of that of Sydney.
