WRECKAGE IDENTIFIED

AUCKLAND, Nov. 27. The s.s. Apauui, which arrived at Auckland to-day, brought the name board of the missing barque Loch Lomond. The wreckage wag picked up at Rangaunui Bay, 29 miles southeast of the North Cape. The word “Loch” is missing, but “Lomond” appears on the board, which is 10ft. in length. The Scottish thistle is also painted on .the board. There is no doubt that the wreckage belongs to the Loch Lomond. A bucket bearing the letters “och” was also •Steen between Cape Maria and. Sco’tt’s Point on the west coast. The-finder of the firfet wreckage reported that about 30 miles south of Cape Maria Van Diemen, on tho west, coast, on October 17, he subsequently found a ship’s door, with a. hole cut in the centre, ■and compass gimbals, lashed in with fishing line. Some deck-house panels are also stated to be ashore near Hu hater e, on th© 90-mile.beach. A door, which might be a companionway door, is also said to have bee,u found in the direction of Cape Reinga.
