CYCLING.
The next cycle road race, promoted by Mr. H. Anderson, will take place over the Makauri course on December 17th, at 3'p.m. The competitors will start from the Whataupoko bridge land finish at the Grey Street comer, ia distance of about 12 miles. Mr. D. J. Barry has presented a- diver cup, to be competed for iw three races, and awarded on points. The winner of this race will receive a gold medal, presented by Mr. H. Anderson, the second- a set of Bates’ tyres, presented by Messrs E. Reynolds ■ and Co., Wellington; and the third a medal. Mr. A. Rusher has also donated a gold medal-to he awarded 'to the unplaced rider who covers the course in the fastest time.
