TIMARU, Nov. 28

A social gathering of the Hon. W. Ha 11-Jones’ old election committee was held last- evening. About 1150 persons of both sexes were present. The Alinister was presented with a gold smoker’s companion, and Airs. Hall-Jones with a toilet stand as souvenirs of tlie long electoral relations. Air. Hall-Jones made a few remarks on his hopes of continuing to serve New Zealand as usefully in his new as in his old sphere. He leaves for Wellington -to-day.
