HORSE SALES

Alessrs Williams and Ivettle, Ltd., yarded about 40 horses at their weekly sale ou Saturday. Fair quality hacks sold from £3 to £S, better quality from £9 to £ll 15s, harness horses from £6 to £l2, a mare in foal at £3 15s, yearlings from £2 to £5, and ia four-wheel trap in the- bankrupt estate of Joseph Burke at £4l.

PRODUCE markets: Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co. report the following prices realised at their produce sales on Saturday:— Hens 2s to "3s, roosters 2s Od to 3s, eggs Is to Is Id, butter 10d. peas Is 3d peck, beans 6d, new season onions 2£d to 3d, turnips 2d bundle, lettuce and cabbage, spring onions, rad dish at last week’s -rates, lemons Id doz, gooseberries 4]d to od quart, new potatoes 2d lb, old Up-to-Hates 10s Od per sack. There was a. very heavy demand for turkeys and poultry of all descriptions, also for eggs, and good vegetables and fruits. A furniture sale followed, at which there was spirited bidding. Messrs Miller and Craoig report- the following prices at their sale of produco on Saturday:—Hens Is lid to 2s lOd, roosters 2s to 3s, ducks Is lid, chickens Bd, eggs Is, butter 8d to lid lb, potatoes Ss to 10s 6d sack, new potatoes ljd to 2d lb, peas Is to Is 4d peck, onions 3d -lb, cabbage Is 6d to 3s ,-lettuce 6d dozen, spring onions 3d to 6d bundlo, salmon 4s 6d dozen tins, tomato sauce 8s dozen, red currants 3d -lb, household soap Ss box. Butter is now edming in freely.
