BRANCH FORMED AT HASTINGS

HASTINGS, Dec. 9

A meeting of the employees of the Pakipaki and the North British Freezing Works was held Jiero last night, Mr. Reardon (Wellington) presiding. It was resolved to form a branch of the Wellington slaughtermen’s union. Of 50 men present 21 Pakipaki and 16 North British workers handed in their names as members. Mr. J. Hunt., of Pakipaki, was appointed secretary.
