A MUCH MARRIED MAN.

ARRESTED IN DUNEDIN. THREE WIVES AT ONCE. [Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Dec. 16. A sensational arrest was effected this afternoon, when a mini named T/hos. Flynn, aged about 88, who is alleged to have three living wives, was apprehended at North-East Valley on a warrant charging him with having, on 4th February, 1904, 'at Dunedin, being a married man, go through -a form of marriage with a single woman. It is understood that Flynn, wli6 is described as a carpenter and (laborer, came here from Launceston, and about seven years ago married a single woman at Arrowtown, to whom he has had children. He afterwards came to live in town, and bedimo acquainted with the young woman whom the warrant charges him with marrying in 1904. Last month, it is alleged he went a step further by marrying another woman at the Registry Office in the name of Galway, and he will be similarly charged in -respect to this ease. He has had children to all these wives, and seems to have been living with his real wife alll the time. The second marriage was contracted in Dunedin while the first wife was in Arrowtown. The first wife subsequently came to Dunedin and about six months after her arrival the second wife became euspicous and accused Flynn of being already married. Flynn admitted this and the second wife thereupon -refused to live with him'. Up to this time Flynn had apparently been keeping two houses going. On the refusal of the second wife to have anything to do with him ho lived with the first wife. He married both these women .under the name of Flynn. Recently the woman whom Flynn married under the name of Gil way came out of the Maternity Hospital in -a destitute condition, and by a curious coincidence was taken to the home of Flynn’s second wife by a-charitably-disposed person. As the result of conversations between these women suspicions were aroused, and inquiries made. Arrangements were made whereby the second and third wives met Fivnn at the same in the street, a- mutual friend being present also on tho spot. A stormy scene ensued, and an information was laid against Flynn, who will come before the Court to-morrow.
