A man named Ford was found in a dying condition at U-po-kongaro, and passed 'away shortly afterwards. A man named Wheeler was knocked off his bicycle and fractured one of his legs. Tom Long, the •hangman, was killed while felling hush at Kangagaroa yesterday. An inquest is to he licild.
PR OPOSED CO-OPERATIVE DAIRYING.
DANNEVIRKE, Dec. 16
A proposal is made by the Hawke’s Bay Dairy Company to sell their Mangatainoka and Dannevirkc butter factories and thirteen creameries to suppliers at a valuation. An endeavor is to bo made to start the proposed co-operative company in time for next season.

At a meeting of the Wellington Garrison Artillery and Battery Field Artillery last night Captain Itichardson, director of artillery services, was presented with an illuminated address, setting forth the appreciation of every (artillery volunteer company in tlio Dominion. The presentationwas made hy Colonel Campbell. SUICIDE AT NELSON.

■Mrs. Goode, wife of a Haruy Street small, goods butcher, committed suicide this afternoon, by means of poison. Further details are not ‘available yet.
OTAGO DOCK TRUST
DUNEDIN, Dec. 16
At a meeting of the Otago Dock Trust last night, for the purpose of considering the position of affairs in connection with the new dock, it was decided that in view of the contractors’ breaches of contract, action competent to the Trust under clause--17 of the general conditions of the contract be forthwith taken. It was stated that since the time when the new dock should 'have been completed 46 vessels, which should have been docked hero, had gone to other ports. DEATH OF A VETERAN TEACHER.
The death is announced of Air. Closs, for many, years headmaster of the Alexandra school, who only last week retired from the service owing to .ill-liealth. His son is medimi officer at the Auckland hospital His brothers are Dr. Oloss, Dunedin, and the Rev. Oloss, Oongregationall Church, Christchurch.
