COUNTER PETITION AT HUTT. [Pkess Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. A counter petition has been lodged against the local option poll at the Hutt, chiefly on the ground of votes being improperly allowed or disallowed, of absentees being allowed to vote, of persons voting who ought nog to have been on the rolls, of tampering with voting papers between tli© declaration and recount; the net result of all which, it is claimed, is that the majority in favor of licenses being granted was greater than, officially declared.
