FURTHER DETAILS

[Peebs Association.]

DUNEDIN. Dec. 16.

Daniel McCurdy, the victim of the shooting affray in North Dunedin on Monday night, is making satisfactory progress. The bullet was extracted from bis leg yesterday. It appears that McCurdy did not throw a knife at Toomey, but that as the result of a dispute over a seat at the table, Toomey threatened McCurdy with a knife, and the latter picked up a chair in self-defence. Toomey then went outside, got a rifle, and fired through . the window, wounding McCurdy in the thigh.
