HARBOR BOARD AND RAILWAY.
A QUESTION OF RENT
[Press Association.]
DUNEDIN, Dec. 17
The Otago Harbor Board to-day received a iletter which the chairman characterised as extraordinary. It appears that the lart gallery trustees are willing to hand to the Board a piece of ground as a site for offices. This ground was formerly the property of the Board, but was taken by the Government for railway purposes, though not used for such, being subsequently occupied by the Art Gallery trustees. The Government now offers the land to the Board at a rental of £3O per annum, the General Manager of 'Railways writing to that effect. The opinion was expressed that the Hon. J. A. Ml.'iir Avas not cognisant of the contents of the letter, and it was decided to lay the facts before him.
