GIRL FALLS DEAD IN THE (STREET. [Press Association.]

CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 20. Alice Gibson, 12 years of *ige, died suddenly in the. street yesterday evening on her way home from the house of a friend whom she had been visiting. -At the inquest to-day Mrs Sophia .Box stated that the deceased left her place about dusk and witmess watched her running home for some distance. The deceased, who was not 'a robust child, appeared to bo. in her usual health. " She was running very quickly. Dr. Fenwick, -who held >a postmortem examination, was of opinion that death was due to cardiac 'failure, associated with oedema of the ilungs. The coroner gave a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony.
