The returning oficer of the Southern Maori electorate (Mr H. W. Bishop, rS.'M.), received the final voting papers, those from the Croixelles, to-day, and the final comparison o*f the votes will be commenced at 4.30 p.m. on iMonday. The writ will he returned .the same evening. It is anticipated that whether Mr Parata or Mir Urn is returned, the unsuccessful candidate will challenge the result. The work of comparing the rolls is a lengthy process, as the law provides that no Maori whose name appears on the roll of a European electorate .and irrespective of whether •ho voted or did not vote at an election for a member for a European, constituency, can vote at the election of a member to represent a Maori constituency.
