Shortly before, 5 o’clock Inst evening Sergeant Hutton received a telegram from Mr AA\ Sutherland, settler, Tiniroto, stating that just before o’clock his son and a young man named Cecil Benson were bathing in the AVaipaoa river, and as there was a 'fresh running, Benson got out of his depth, went under and. was drowned. The telegram stated that the body had not been recovered. Sergeant Hutton at once despatched Constable Dandy to Tiniroto, and he will reach there this morning. '
