HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Hospi tal Trustees was held on Friday evening. Present: Messrs J. W. Bright (chairman), A. Dewing, A. F, Matthews. T. Holden, JE. H. Mann, F. J. Lysnar, and Hon. Capt. Tucker. Thlie chairman welcomed Mr Holden to the Board, on his appointment by tlie County Council. A letter was received from Mr. Leslie Miller, manufacturing electrician, London, advising that the X Rays apparatus selected by the trustees was the lappliauco most wanted, and lie saw no reason for departing from the list, except, to add two more X Ray tubes to the dynamo. The 50 volt 10 ampere machines mentioned were too small to be of use for light baths, and lie therefore would send a somewhat larger machine that would at least suffice for the treatment of limbs bv light. As the trustees might wish to' run an arc lamp, or a Wehuelt. break, from tbe machine, he would supply it to work at an upper limit of about 05 volts. He hoped to despatch the order about November 20. I+l4. or The house report showed that 20 patients had been admitted do.vmg the month. 24 had been discharged, and 1 died, leaving 30 remaining at date. The ’ patients include seven typhoid land enteric cases, and two scarlatina. Five of the fever cases camo from Gisborne (several being recent arrivals), and one oacli from tlio suburbs and Pulia. Tlie Treasurer’s report was to the following effect:—Receipts: Patients’ fees £23 0s Od, subscriptions mid. donations £lO4 0s Gd, Government for D. T. ward £143 Ss, total £270 9s. Expenditure, Dr balance last meeting £7O 17s 4d, accounts passed last meeting £l4O 17s Od, accounts since paid £ll6 ss, total £327 19s lOd. Debit balance, £57 10s lOd. Ac counts for payment £26S 9s 4d. Requisition from district board due £6OO. , , The chairman remarked that the receipts included a progress payment of £IOO from the social committee. The Hon. Capt. Tucker and Mr W. D. S. MacDonald, M.P., were appointed as the visiting committee for the ensuing month.
