LONDON, Dec. 19. The Bradford wool market is quiet, but with -a confident undertone. Forties llid, 46’s Is 0-2 d, common .60’s 22d, super 23d, 64’s 24d.

Butter. —-A fair trade till yesterday, when .a reduction by 2 kroner {2s 2-Jd) in Danish caused general flatness. Choicest Australian 104 sto 106 s, and occasionally IOSs, New Zealand 110 s to 112 s, Danish 113 s to 115 s. Cheese. —Slow sale. New Zealand 57s to 595. Wheat. —Weak American markets and great pressure to sell new Argentine have caused a general depression. Buyers are inactive. Fourteen thousand quarters Australian December-Janu-ary shipment sold at 3Gs. Australian afloat is offering at 37s 6d to 38s 6d; spot, quiet, 40s to 41s. Flour: Dull; unchanged.

WELLINGTON, Dec. 5* . The High Commissioner’s cable is as follows:

The mutton market is depressed. There is a dull sale for all qualities, although stocks of New Zealand mutton on hand are light and firmly held in a. few hands. Current quotations are: Canterbury mutton 3 : ]d, North Island 3-ld, River Plate 3-J-d per lb. Tire lamb market is quiet. There is scarcely any demand for Australian lamb in large supply, only the best quality being saleable. Current quotations are: Canterbury (lamb bj-d, other than Canterbury did, Australian did per lb.

The beef market is dull. The supply exceeds the demand. Hindquarters are quoted at 3-Jd, forequarters at 3d. Quotations for New Zealand beef arc nominal.

The butter market is weaker, and prices slightly lower, and buyers are holding back expecting -prices to go lower. Current quotations are: Choicest New Zealand 110 s, Australian 106 s, Danish Ills, Argentine 105 s, Siberian 103 s per cut. The cheese market is quiet, owing to the poor demand. New Zealand makes are quoted -at 58s per cwt.

The hemp market is lifeless. Current quotations: Ail positions, good fair grade, £25; fair grades £23, fair current Manila £24 15s. Last week’s output from Manila .amounted to 23,000 bales.

The cocksfoot- seed market is very dull, quotations ‘being 7Ss nominal for bright, clean 171 b seed. The hop market as steady with a very good demand. New Zealand Jong-berried wheat, on spot and ex granary, per quarter of 4961b5, 37s 6d; short-berried wheat, 35s 6d nominal. Sparrowbill oats (short), ex granary, on spot, per quarter of SSilbs. 245; New Zealand oats (Danish) ex granary, on -spot, per quarter of 320,1b5, 16s 64. The wool market is quieter at current quotations for f.o.b. -Bradford tops; 36’s (low crossbreds) 103 d, 40’s (low crossbreds) lljd, 44’s (medium crossbreds) Is Old, 50’s (halfbreds) Is 4-J,d, 56’s (quarterbreds) 1-s 6;]d, 60’s (merinos) l.s lid.

T’IMARU WOOL SALES. TIMARU, Dec. 21. The second wool sales will be held on Wednesday, when a record catalogue of 13,335 bales will be offered. Wool is coining forward in good condition. ‘A moderate proportion is fine half and three-quarter bred. The hulk is heavy Lincoln and Leicester cross wools.' It is expected prices for these descriptions will be slightly better than .at the first sale, but the market for inferior kinds shows an easier tone, and -prices for the November sales will be barely maintained.
