ANNUAL VACATION. This school broke up- on Friday for the holidays. This term, in lieu of the ordinary examination, tlie school was examined by Mr. Hill, the inspector. His rejiort not having yet been received the ordinary prize distribution could not take place, but. on receipt of tlie report parents will be duly apprised of the results. Each pupil, however, received a memento of (industry or of progress. Mr. Cockcrill singled out for special mention the following boys, viz., George Kells: for hard w-ork and spirited attempt to -pass the matriculation; examination on only one year’s special preparation. Tlie result is not yet -known. G. Winter, E. Armstrong, M Tiffed, and D. Holden: general all-round progress. 8. Des Baines: marked progress in Latin ; F. MsPhail, progress in arithmetic ; G. iGraQmm, progress in spelling and reading .
