POVERTY BAY CLUB. -

The semi-final of the double scullsfor Mr F. Harris’ gold medals was rowed last night between W. McGuffie and J. Malone and J. 'McConnell and R. Huston. The latter got a good advantage of their start and kept the lead until opposite Mr Nesbitt’s. Then McGuffie drew level and kept there until about twenty yards from the post, when the former crew •drew away and won by a bare margin of 3 feet, after a very hard and fast race. Both crews were fully extended.

To might the final will be rowed between R. Jones and .P. Fischbach and W. McGuffie and J. -Malone. This is expected to be very hard race, as both crews are determined to win.
