ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER [Pkess Association.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 26. Nicholas Casey, a farmer, has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder tat Takapuna, of a farmer named Wink worth Speck by firing a gun at him. Casey declares that he did not intend to injure, but only to frighten (Speck, because he was laboring under the impression that Speck had done some injury to some of his family. Speck was not injured as the gun was not- loaded, or ‘the charge missed fire.

A GUN ACCIDENT

A man named WiUiam August, while out- shooting with another man, was accidentally shot in the face through his companion’s gun going off accidentally. August is seriously, but it is believed not dangerously, wounded.

INVERCARGILL, Dec. 27
