TARANAKI V. AVANGANUI. [Press Association.] AVANGANUI, Dec. 27. The cricket match, Taranaki v. AVanganui, was concluded on Saturday, AVanganui proving winners by nine wickets. Taranaki made 209 and 60, AVanganui 171 and 101 'for one wicket. CANTERBURY V. AVELLINGTON. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 27. The annual match between Canterbury and Wellington was resumed this morning at Hagley Park. The ■rain that had fallen during the night had not been sufficient to affect the wicket, but had freshened things up, and as the sun shone out brightly the conditions were excellent for an enjoyable game. Tlie three remaining Canterbury wickets fell in less than half an hour. The battmg, with the exception of Norman s, not beinc of a verv high order.
