The first round of the'single scull .races for “Unknown” donor’s trophy, was rowed on Monday evening, when several good races took place, the results being- as follows: J. AV. Nicolas (4sec) beat T. Parker (14sec) by balfa length; C. Somervell .(Bsec) heat J. Malone (17sec) by three-quarters of a length; T. McConnell (14see) beat G. AVhitfield (19sec) by about one length, after :a good race. The races were continued last night when R. Sccats (30sec) beat J. AYebb (12sec) by half a length. The first round will be continued this evening.
