THE AVAIROA CLUB

Bowling promises to he more popular in AVairoa this season than heretofore, and Mr George Oman, an old member of the Gisborne Club, in order to stimulate interest in the game, has presented a pair of howls for competition. Any Gisborne bowlers who go to the southern town during its Carnival AVeek, which commences on Jannarp 19, will have ample opportunity for enjoying a game of bowls.

THE CHRISTCHURCH TOURNAMENT. [Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 5. A meeting of the Christchurch tournament committee was held tonight, when it was decided to extend entries in the championship rinks, doubles and singles, until Monday, January 11th, at 9 p.m. Entries are coming i.n well and everything points to the tournament being a great success.
