POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION

The usual weekly ■ meeting .of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held in the British Empire Hotel, Mr. H. E. Maude presiding. . It was decided to cliarge 6d admission to the match between United and Wanderers at Victoria Domain on Saturday next and the following Saturday, ladies and school children to be admitted free. The secretary was instructed to forward a letter of than'lcs to the Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association fnr the hospitality extended'to the members of the. Poverty Bay team during their recent visit to Napier, and asking that body to specially - convey thanks to Mr ,E. P. Sinyrk for the manner in which ho had attended to the comfort of the Gisborne players. A letter of thanks was directed to bo forwarded to Mr. A. C Barnes of Napier, for donating a bat for tne first Gisborne player to register a ceVitury at Napier, and to tlic donor of a bat for the best fieldsman, during the Napier tour., which were secured by Messrs W. Gibson and J. Bowman stated that the Modi and. Tokomaru Clubs intended visiting Gisborne early m February, and tfiat these'clubs, in addition to meeting Gisborne elevens,', were desirous of playing ia- match against each othei in. decided to request the cronnd committee to have, the* giass on the outfield at Victory Domain cut in readiness for Thursday s matches.
