RUNS FOR SUBDIVISION. \fter the ordinary business of the Land Board had been concluded yesterday, Mr. Bartram asked iG anythino, was being done towards subdividing the small grazing runs which figured so largely mi the Board's discussions some few months ago. The Commissioner replied that Mr. Caesar had received notice of the decision to subdivide, but before replying to this, he had ■askcdvtlie matter should be held over pending the inquiry suggested by the ITon. Jas. Carroll. , , Mr. Bartram: Then there is not much prospect of the runs being subdivided in March next? The Commissioner: No. not unless we receive word from the Department in a week or two. Mr. Bartram suggested that if the matter could not bo dono by March they would have the season over and the bad roads upon them. The Commissioner explained that it was very probable he would receive something definite shortly. Matters had doubtless boon delayed through the change in the Cabinet. The whole matter was in abeyance pending the Government’s consideration of it. Until they knew this decision the Board could not deal with either Bruce’s or Caesar’s runs. No time would be lost when the definite reply was obtained. After a brief discussion, it was deckled to authorise the Commissioner to communicate with the Department, enquiring as to the position.
