Twenty-two criminals have just been executed in France, there having been no capital punishment since 1906. Four criminals were publicly guillotined at Bethunc to-day in accordance with the Chamber of N Deputies’ decision in favor of maintaining capital punishment. (Received Jau. 12, 9.20 p.m.) PARIS, Jan. 12. An 'enormous crowd treated a quadruple execution in Paris- as a popular fete, shouted “Death to the murderers,” and cheered the fall of eacli head. Abel Pollet, one of the condemned, admitted 250 crimes. [For three years, owing to the influence of the anti-capital punishment party, whose views found acceptance in. high quarters, no murderers were put to death in France. The appalling increase ol atrocious crimes, however, so wrought upon public opinion that the authorities were obliged to again have recourse to capital punishment.] . -
